Top 6 Ways to Fight Frizz

1

BRUSH ONLY WHEN WET

Brushing dry curls leads to breakage and damage, as there isn’t enough slip. Only brush your curls wet after you’ve applied conditioner in the shower or cream before styling.

2

NEVER SKIP STYLING

Styling is one of the most important steps for curly hair. Leave-in conditioners are not enough to define curls, so you should always follow with a styler for hold and frizz protection.

3

WETTER IS BETTER!

Apply styling products on hair that is as wet as possible. The water helps hair spread more easily and coat the hair evenly, which helps with frizz control.

4

BEWARE YOUR TOWEL’S TEXTURE

Textured towels like terrycloth create friction on the hair, which causes frizz. But not all microfibre is good either – look for a smooth surface such as cotton, or use a t-shirt!

5

CRUNCH IS A CURL’S BEST FRIEND

A ‘cast’, is temporary and protects curls from frizz while they are drying. Once dry, you can scrunch to break the cast and reveal soft, bouncy curls.

6

PROTECT CURLS AT ALL COSTS

Keeping your curls safe while sleeping is key. Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction, and tie in a pineapple or use a bonnet to keep hair protected.
